Chistery the flying monkey

Flying Monkey Costumes

In the Wizard of Oz, Nikko the flying monkey was the silent, obedient type. In Wicked, his name is Chistery, and he's one of the monkey servants in Oz, before Elphaba is tricked into reading a spell that gives the monkey servants wings. Creating a flying monkey from scratch can be tricky, especially the wings. Consider purchasing a premade flying monkey costume, or premade wings. To fashion a costume more like Chistery, consider spray painting pants or tights with brown and silver streaks and adding a military style jacket. Nikko's costume is more of a traditional organ grinder monkey's outfit with a vest or jacket and cap.
