Quotes from the Wizard of Oz MovieThe quotes and one liners from The Wizard of Oz are some of the most memerable in movie history. In order to acheive such success, the movie has a long list of writers credits, including L. Frank Baum (for dialog from the original "The Wonderful Wizard of Oz"), as well as Noel Langley, Florence Ryerson, and Edgar Allan Woolf (screenplay). Uncredited writers of dialog include Irving Brecher, William H. Cannon, Herbert Fields, Arthur Freed, Jack Haley, E.Y. Harburg, Samuel Hoffenstein, Bert Lahr, John Lee Mahin, Herman J. Mankiewicz, Jack Mintz, and Sid Silvers. Note that among the uncredited writers include the Lion, Tinman, and Scarecrow, all of whom can trace their roots to the days of Vaudville, and were known for their comedic timing and for clowning around on and off camera. Judy Garland often would later accuse them of overcrowding her during filming, and one can only assume that a liberal amount of ad-libing took place, some of which was captured on camera.
